Job summary

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) invites applications for an hourly laboratory position in the Oregon National Primate Center (ONPRC). The role supports immune research using non-human primates, coordinating with infectious disease labs and assay work, while ensuring regulatory compliance with USDA/OLAW/AAALAC standards.

Responsibilities include training staff, managing samples and data, and assisting with terminal tissue collection under ABSL2+/ABSL3 conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in a relevant field and 1 year of experience, or equivalent training/experience.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate scientific terminology clearly in writing and speech.
• Ability to work independently and in small teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee labs or research units and coordinate projects.
• Assist with necropsies and sample collection as applicable.
• Provide technical and administrative support to investigative staff and pathologists.
• Coordinate with veterinary, animal care, and principal investigators to meet schedules and progress.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, and waste disposal.
• Prepare reports and regulatory documents as needed.
