Job summary

Labcorp in Greenfield, IN is seeking a Senior Primate Behaviorist to join our animal care and behavioral science team. The role focuses on humane care, behavior assessment, and development of behavior management procedures for nonhuman primates in biomedical research.

The ideal candidate has a life sciences degree, 8+ years of animal research, 5+ years of behavior management with macaques and related species, GLP experience, and collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Biology, Animal Behavior or other related Life Science degrees).
  • 8+ years of professional animal research or breeding experience.
  • 5+ years of behavior management experience with nonhuman primates (Rhesus/Cynomolgus macaques or common marmosets).
  • 3+ years experience in a GLP environment.
  • 1+ year experience working within a multi-discipline research team.
  • Knowledge of behavioral management procedures including enrichment and positive reinforcement training.

Responsibilities

  • Treat animals humanely with care and respect.
  • Adhere to ethical standards for animal welfare.
  • Develop behavior management studies and training materials.
  • Lead analysis of welfare/behavior data and prepare reports.
  • Collaborate with study directors, clients and IACUC to implement interventions.
  • Deliver behavior management trainings for onboarding and staff development.
  • Present behavioral program updates for client meetings and audits.
