Job summary

The University of Chicago's Smart Museum of Art seeks a Chief Preparator to lead the design, construction, installation and de-installation of exhibitions and collections. Working under the Manager of Registration and Exhibitions, you will plan, coordinate and supervise staff and contractors to ensure exhibits meet safety, quality and budget standards.

Qualifications

• Formal education in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with exhibition design and art handling.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with artists and curators to plan and execute installations.
• Coordinate with staff, facilities and external contractors to meet deadlines and budgets.
