Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Project Manager to oversee the entire preconstruction phase of complex solar, storage, and substation projects. The role requires leading multiple projects, coordinating with owners, engineers and subcontractors, and ensuring budgets and schedules are met.

Based in a hybrid setting, you will be in-office in San Diego or start remote with eventual regular presence in Denver, CO.

Qualifications

• Engineering or Construction Management degree or equivalent experience.
• Field construction management experience (8-10 years) with supervisory skills.
• Leadership ability and strong sense of urgency.
• Organizational and communication skills.
• Drafting and computer skills.
• Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting.
• Thorough understanding of scheduling, cost control, procurement and estimating.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple or large, complex projects from notice of award through mobilization.
• Estimate and establish budgets and contract price (GMP/Lump Sum).
• Negotiate subcontract and material purchases; ensure timely buyout and approvals.
• Maintain schedules; ensure on-time project delivery and reporting to management.
• Develop safety plans with the Safety Dept. and implement QA/QC plans with the QA/QC team.
• Supervise project team; lead regular management and subcontractor meetings.
• Review and negotiate contract conditions; ensure compliance with terms.
• Direct preconstruction services, bid package preparation and subcontracting activities.
