Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial construction with 2+ years in preconstruction or estimating.
• Procore, P6, and MS Office proficiency.
• Knowledge of BIM/VDC and sustainable practices.

Responsibilities

HB Construction is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to join our team and lead our preconstruction efforts with integrity, innovation, and excellence. This role is critical in shaping the future of our projects before they even break ground. Your leadership will directly influence our ability to deliver exceptional value to clients, hit key business development targets, and maintain the high standard of excellence that defines HB.

Responsibilities

• Deliver best-in-market preconstruction services, including budgeting, constructability review, scheduling, site planning, bid packaging, permitting, and other deliverables.
• Lead the preconstruction process from concept to GMP, including budget development and value engineering.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to align expectations and project goals.
• Identify and assess project risks and provide proactive solutions.
• Facilitate internal handoff to operations teams for project execution.
• Continually improve HB preconstruction services and contracting best practices.
• Spearhead implementation of software, technology, and organization to support Preconstruction Services.
• Contribute to HB Business Development and Partnering efforts by meeting with potential customers, attending job walks/pre-bid meetings, and participating in interviews.
• Participate in strategic decisions involving Go/No-Go, pricing, and proposal strategy.
• Deliver schedule, constructability, and project challenge insight for proposal management plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial construction with 2+ years in preconstruction or estimating roles.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software, Procore, P6, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, drawings, and specifications.
• Excellent communication, leadership, customer experience, and organizational skills.
• Experience with design-build and negotiated projects.
• LEED accreditation or knowledge of sustainable building practices.
• Familiarity with BIM/VDC tools and digital collaboration platforms.
• Prior experience with project pursuits and client presentations.
