Job summary

HB Construction is looking for a Director of Preconstruction & Estimating to lead our preconstruction team and help shape how we pursue, plan, and position projects for success.

This is a leadership role that combines deep estimating expertise with strong business judgment, client relationships, and a passion for developing people. You will drive value, risk analysis, and strategic cost management across projects, while advancing technology and data within preconstruction.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive commercial construction experience.
• Proven leadership in preconstruction and estimating.
• Knowledge of conceptual estimating, GMP development, constructability, procurement, and risk.
• Experience leading and developing high performing teams.
• Strong client communication and presentation skills.
• Strategic thinker with attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.

• Lead and develop HB's preconstruction and estimating team
• Partner with executive leadership and operations on opportunity selection, risk, and project strategy
• Build trusted relationships with clients, design partners, and trade partners
• Strengthen estimating standards, cost data, market intelligence, and preconstruction processes
• Lead value analysis, constructability, procurement, and cost strategy
• Ensure a strong transition from preconstruction to operations
• Advance the use of technology and data across preconstruction
