Job summary

Russell Co. seeks a Senior Preconstruction Manager to oversee estimating, scheduling, and project planning for successful initiation and delivery.

You will collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, lead a preconstruction team, and drive value engineering and risk management. A bachelor’s degree in CM/Engineering/Architecture and 8–10 years of relevant experience, with BIM knowledge and LEED AP/ CCM certifications, plus a valid driver’s license, are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CM/Engineering/Architecture or related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or PM in construction.
• Experience with design-build or IPD methods.
• Proven track record in managing preconstruction for large-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in estimating software, scheduling tools, and MS Office.
• Familiarity with BIM technology.
• Professional certifications such as LEED AP or CCM.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preconstruction phase with detailed plans, scopes, and schedules aligned with client requirements.
• Manage estimating by analyzing documents, performing quantity takeoffs, and developing budgets.
• Identify risks and opportunities; develop strategies to mitigate and protect profitability.
• Serve as primary client contact during preconstruction; maintain relationships and expectations.
• Mentor and guide preconstruction team members; foster collaboration and productivity.
• Lead value engineering efforts; present cost-saving alternatives to clients and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to align plans and specs.
• Oversee preconstruction documentation: bids, proposals, schedules; ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Stay informed on market trends to provide strategic insights during preconstruction.
• Drive continuous improvement of processes, tools, and techniques.
