Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production, or to conduct owner and agency inspections for DOT programs. You will verify prestressing operations, review mix designs and strength records, and assess finished products against specifications.

You will maintain QC records to retain PCI and DOT certifications, supervise Level I inspectors, and coordinate site coverage and travel between plants.

Qualifications

• PCI Level II certification currently active with 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
• Knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and applicable DOT precast specifications.
• ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification preferred; ability to uphold specs under schedule pressure.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning sequence, and transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records.
• Accept or reject finished products against specifications and shop drawings; disposition repairs.
• Maintain plant QC records for PCI plant certification and DOT/owner acceptance programs.
• Supervise Level I inspectors; assign daily coverage and review their records.
