Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Pre-Sales Network Architect based in the United States to design scalable, secure networking solutions for enterprise customers. You will lead discovery sessions, craft technical architectures, and present executive-level recommendations in collaboration with sales and technology partners.

The role requires deep Cisco and Juniper networking knowledge, experience in data center/WAN designs, and the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable network

Qualifications

• 7+ years in enterprise networking with customer-facing pre-sales experience
• Deep technical expertise in Cisco and Juniper networking infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of Layer 2/3 protocols (BGP, OSPF, STP, VLANs, VRFs), QoS, NAT, ACLs
• Ability to lead technical discussions with engineers and executives
• Experience designing or consulting on data center, WAN, or secure remote access solutions
• Skilled at creating architecture diagrams, proposal documentation, and technical presentations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead during pre-sales engagements, aligning network architectures with client goals across data center, campus, and WAN environments
• Design and present solutions using Cisco and Juniper platforms to meet customer requirements and business objectives
• Lead whiteboarding sessions, technical workshops, and discovery meetings to define use cases and architectural recommendations
• Collaborate with account managers, delivery teams, and OEM partners to develop proposals, BOMs, and SOWs
• Translate business needs into scalable, secure network architectures leveraging routing, switching, VPNs, and firewall technologies
• Develop high-quality documentation including HLDs and client-ready presentations
• Stay current on emerging technologies and communicate their value in customer environments
• Participate in RFP responses, competitive analyses, and technical validation of proposed architectures
• Act as a trusted advisor to enterprise clients, building long-term technical relationships
