Job description

Under the general direction of Collins + Co.’s executive leadership team, the Senior PR Manager will lead and support strategic media relations efforts for a roster of Collins + Co. clients. This role is responsible for developing and executing integrated campaigns that drive media coverage, enhance brand presence, and engage online communities in alignment with Collins + Co.’s high standards of creativity and innovation. This position also includes the opportunity to manage Collins + Co. interns and future employees.

Public Relations + Media Strategy
  • Responsible for account and relationship management of PR clients.
  • Develop and execute high-impact media relations campaigns that generate meaningful press coverage for clients.
  • Craft compelling pitches, media alerts, and press releases that align with client goals and industry trends.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with national, regional, and trade media, securing consistent, targeted media coverage.
  • Monitor industry news and identify newsjacking opportunities to position clients as thought leaders.
  • Identify, draft, and manage award submissions and thought leadership efforts – including op-eds, bylines, and speaking opportunities.
  • Own client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for PR and media relations efforts.
  • Lead and support crisis communications efforts, serving as a trusted strategic advisor to clients during high‑stakes situations – developing messaging, coordinating rapid response, and managing media inquiries to protect and preserve brand reputation.
  • Manage account hours, client budgets, and team bandwidth across accounts you lead, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and work is delivered on time and within scope.
  • Oversee social media messaging across channels for assigned clients, ensuring brand voice is consistent, content is purposeful, and communications are integrated with broader PR efforts.
  • Own reporting and analytics for PR and integrated accounts, tracking key performance metrics, media coverage, and campaign results – translating data into actionable insights and presenting findings to clients on a regular cadence.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in public relations and social media management. Please note any industry experience in commercial real estate/development, hospitality, nonprofit, and product launch.
  • Proven ability to create and execute successful, innovative PR campaigns.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field.
  • Established relationships with national, regional, and trade media; ability to cultivate and maintain strong press contacts.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to craft compelling pitches, press releases, and short‑form copy.
  • Customer‑focused with a client‑centric mindset, excelling in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Must be based in the Baltimore or DC metro region with reliable transportation
  • Work closely with Collins + Co.’s leadership team and clients to align PR and social media strategies with business goals.
  • Oversee and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support in PR and social media best practices.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop visually compelling content that enhances brand storytelling.
  • Support public relations and marketing efforts such as on‑site events, media interviews, and promotional activations.
  • Identify and pitch new business opportunities to expand Collins + Co.’s client portfolio.
