Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) seeks a Senior Engineer for the Production Vehicle Optimization (PVO) Team within the Vehicle Engineering Department.

You will drive improvements for Genesis, Hyundai, and KIA vehicles, serving as an onsite liaison with suppliers and regional teams to enhance quality, reduce warranty claims, and improve JD Power IQS. You will analyze design for manufacturability, manage cross-functional projects, and develop data-driven recommendations using DAQ

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Engineering Design for the automotive sector.
• Strong knowledge of automotive engineering design and manufacturing methods.
• Experience with DAQ tools and vehicle networks for analysis and improvement.
• Proven project management and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply design expertise to develop improvement concepts for production vehicles.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers as onsite liaison.
• Assess manufacturability, warranty risk, and quality optimization.
• Utilize DAQ tools to evaluate improvements and document findings.
• Lead testing, propose countermeasures, and issue engineering changes as needed.
• Review drawings and 3D data for conformance and approvals.
• Benchmark competitive designs to drive quality and cost efficiency.
• Develop and present technical reports and project plans.
