Qualus is seeking a Principal Engineer - Power Systems to lead interconnection feasibility studies for new generation, storage, demand, and transmission projects. Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 12+ years of electrical engineering experience in the power industry.
• Experience with EMT Modeling using PSCAD.
• Intimate knowledge of the PSSE and/or PSLF power systems analysis tools and their associated models and utilities.
• Knowledge of transmission systems in Eastern Interconnection, ERCOT and/or WECC.
• Extensive experience with power system studies.
• Experience with resource interconnection studies in Eastern Interconnection, ERCOT and/or WECC.

Responsibilities

• Perform interconnection feasibility studies for new generation, storage, demand and transmission projects.
• Optimize the size and location of new generation, storage, demand and transmission projects.
• Prepare interconnection applications including development of power flow, dynamic and short circuit models.
• Guide interconnection applications through the full study process.
• Interface with the host transmission operator and review their study reports.
• Perform general power system studies.
