Job summary

Ghafari Associates, LLC, based in Dearborn/Grand Rapids, MI with other U.S. offices, seeks an Electrical Engineer – Power Systems. You will perform short circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash studies across industrial, commercial, governmental, and healthcare facilities.

You will model power systems using SKM/ETAP/EasyPower, collect field data, and collaborate with project teams to ensure safe, reliable electrical solutions. Hybrid work available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineer’s License is required.
• 10+ years related and progressively more responsible experience in electrical engineering field.
• 5+ years experience performing short‑circuit analysis, protective device coordination and arc flash hazard analysis studies.
• Proficiency in power system modeling software and field data collection.
• Experience with site visits and collaboration with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform short circuit analysis to evaluate fault currents.
• Conduct overcurrent protection device coordination studies.
• Evaluate and recommend arc flash mitigation strategies.
• Create arc flash labels per NFPA 70E.
• Conduct site visits to collect field data.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and client on scope and design.
• Adhere to project quality, budget, and schedule.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Edit and draft project specifications.
