Job summary

OTSI (Object Technology Solutions, Inc) has an immediate opening for a Staff Electrical Engineer - Power System Protection (onsite Role). Locations include Overland Park, KS; Bloomington, MN; Houston, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Cary, NC; Tualatin, OR.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years in protection & control design, IEC 61850 knowledge, and proficiency with power-system modeling software and protection schemes across transmission, distribution, and renewable substations.

Qualifications

5–10 years of experience in Transmission industry.
Experience developing protective relay settings (line, transformer, breaker, bus).
Knowledge of IEC 61850 (GOOSE, MMS, SV) and its implementation.
Knowledge and application of NERC-PRC standards and other industry standards.
Ability to communicate in writing and coordinate with team members and clients.
Ability to lead small projects including schedules, budgets, and staffing.

Responsibilities

Develop protective relay settings and setting files for various equipment.
Apply protection schemes in Transmission, Distribution and Renewable Substations.
Support proposal development including scope, estimates and schedules.
Coordinate with clients and team members to ensure project success.
Lead small projects with cost control and staffing oversight.
