Job summary

Southwest Research Institute's Tactical Aerospace Department seeks a Lead Engineer - Principal Engineer to oversee embedded hardware designs, power supply and analog circuits for avionics and MIL-SPEC systems. This on-site role is based in San Antonio, TX or Dayton, OH, with travel to customer sites for final integration testing.

The selected candidate will mentor junior engineers, verify architecture, and lead development from schematics to PCBA bring-up and test.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8 years of embedded hardware design and test for avionics power supplies and analog circuits.
• Leading hardware design and development teams for embedded systems.
• A valid/clear driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware designs to meet all hardware/system requirements.
• Serves as analog and power supply circuit SME.
• Verifies all architectural requirements are satisfied.
• Leads/mentors junior engineering staff in hardware/analog designs.
• Leads junior staff in testing embedded avionics hardware on MIL-SPEC hardware.
• Travel to customer sites for final integration testing in labs or on aircraft.
