Job summary

DRW is seeking a Senior Quantitative Power Strategist to join the US Power and Natural Gas trading team. This role focuses on valuation, structuring, bidding, and risk management of energy transactions across US electricity markets.

You will work with traders and researchers to build pricing models, hedge strategies, and analytics infrastructure, translating market views into executable decisions with strong commercial judgment.

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience in US power trading, quantitative research, structuring, or portfolio management.
• Experience pricing or managing load auctions or load-following portfolios.
• Strong understanding of US wholesale power markets and related products.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain quantitative models for US power load auctions and load-following products.
• Value load obligations by modeling demand, weather, hourly shape, and related risks.
• Produce bid recommendations and scenario analyses for various load opportunities.
• Design hedge strategies across power, gas, and capacity products.
• Collaborate with traders to translate market views into bidding and risk strategies.
• Develop tools for valuation, reporting, stress testing, and performance attribution.
• Research market structure changes and their impact on pricing and hedging.
• Improve data, forecasting, and analytical infrastructure with engineers.
