Job summary

The Norland Group in Oakland, CA is seeking a Senior Operations Data Analyst (Power Platform) for a 5-month contract onsite. You will turn operational needs into scalable Power Apps and Power BI solutions, improving visibility for risk, governance, and executive decision-making.

You will lead data analysis, dashboards, automation, and Power Apps development, integrating across SharePoint Online, Dataverse, Power Automate, and SQL databases while upholding enterprise standards.

Qualifications

Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship.
4+ years of data analysis, business intelligence, reporting, operations analytics, database management, automation, Power Apps development, or application development.
Experience designing, building, deploying, and supporting Canvas or Model-Driven Power Apps in a business or enterprise setting.
Experience developing Power BI dashboards, enterprise reporting solutions, data models, or KPI scorecards.
Strong preference for Power Platform experience including Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft 365.
BA/BS degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Access (complex formulas, VBA, etc.).
Advanced ability writing SQL queries using Oracle, BO, SQL Server, or related technologies.
Proficiency in Power Apps (Canvas/Model-Driven, forms, galleries, components, connectors, etc.).
Proficiency in Power BI and DAX including Power Query and semantic models.
Proficiency with Power Automate across SharePoint Online, Dataverse, Microsoft 365, Teams, Outlook, and Excel.
Familiarity with Power Platform governance, environment strategy, security roles, release management, and maintainability.
Familiarity with ETL/ELT, REST APIs, data warehousing, governance, and row-level security.
Familiarity with operations involving compliance, risk management, audit, governance, or executive reporting.
Preferred: UNIX shell, SAS, VB, Perl, C, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Synapse, or Microsoft Fabric.

Responsibilities

Lead complex data analysis, dashboarding, automation, and Power Apps development projects from request to results, with limited supervision.
Design, develop, test, deploy, and support Canvas and Model-Driven Power Apps to improve efficiency and governance.
Create user-centered app experiences with effective navigation, user roles, validation logic, and data-entry controls.
Integrate Power Apps with SharePoint Online, Dataverse, Power Automate, Microsoft 365, Teams, Outlook, Excel, SQL databases, APIs, and Power BI.
Apply governance and lifecycle practices to keep apps scalable, secure, and maintainable.
Develop analyses, reports, dashboards, scorecards, and data models to produce actionable insights.
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and executive reporting solutions for risk, compliance, governance, and performance management.
Design scalable semantic models using star schema, data types, and performance optimization for large data sets.
Implement Power Automate workflows for approvals, notifications, data refreshes, and reporting processes.
Handle data extracts, transfers, and integration with accuracy and governance.
Support secure intelligence and reporting through row-level security and data governance.
