Job summary

Onward Energy's Pio Pico Energy facility in San Diego, CA is seeking a senior plant operator to manage start/stop, monitor equipment, and maintain logs. The role requires 7+ years of direct experience and deep knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will have a technical background, capability to interpret blueprints, and strong communication skills for coordinating with teams and authorities. Night shifts and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or technical/vocational training; military service acceptable.
• AA or trade school certification preferred.
• 7+ years of directly related plant operation experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate LMS-100 plant equipment during routine and emergency operations.
• Read gauges, meters and log data; maintain operation logs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and NERC procedures.
• Coordinate with Balancing Authority and PJM notifications.
• Provide input to plant betterment items and procedures.
