Job summary

Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Inc. (ERCOT) seeks an Engineer at levels 2–3 or Senior to provide electrical engineering analysis and technical support for planning and operations of the electric power system in Texas.

You will design and perform stability analyses, develop tools to monitor and control the system, and report findings to ERCOT management and stakeholders. On-site requirements apply, with some remote work within Texas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Engineer 2: 1–2 years of progressively responsible experience as a power system engineer or similar role.
• Engineer 3: 3 years of progressively responsible experience.
• Senior level: 5+ years in electric utility industry.
• Experience with large-scale dynamic stability analyses using PSSE/TSAT and models for IBRs.

Responsibilities

• Designs and performs steady-state analyses and dynamic contingency analyses using power system simulation models.
• Runs scenarios, analyzes results, and prepares reports with recommendations.
• Assists in preparing study reports and procedures for ERCOT management and NERC.
• Reviews stakeholder reports for technical content and accuracy.
• Independently handles assignments and projects.
