Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of skilled heavy equipment repair work at the level of Power Equipment Mechanic I with Amador County.
  • Possession of a valid and current California Driver's License.
  • Class A CDL with Air Brake and Tanker endorsements is desired but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide lead direction and training for staff in automotive and diesel-powered equipment maintenance.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair a wide range of equipment including graders, dozers, rollers, trucks, and backhoes.
  • Estimate repair costs and requisition parts for automotive and diesel-powered equipment.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports on repairs and maintenance.
  • Implement shop safety practices and discuss progress with supervisors and attend meetings.
