Job summary

Enphase Energy is seeking a power electronics engineer to advance the SST platform. You will design high-density power conversion circuits and magnetics, targeting efficiency, cooling, and compactness for next-generation power modules.

The role requires advanced degree and 4+ years (6+ for MS) of hands-on experience, with mentorship duties and collaboration across mechanical and controls teams. The position is on-site in Petaluma, CA with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering
• 4+ years nonacademic experience for PhD candidates (6+ years for MS)
• Experience designing high-density power electronics
• Ability to translate modeling to benchtop performance and reconcile theory vs practice
• Familiarity with planar transformers and magnetics

Responsibilities

• Design and develop power conversion circuits and magnetics for SST platform, optimizing power density, efficiency, and thermal performance
• Evaluate and integrate GaN devices and planar magnetics to increase power throughput while shrinking module footprint
• Translate modeling results into benchtop prototypes and reconcile differences between predicted and measured performance
• Drive design trade-offs across power density, efficiency, thermal management, and cost per watt to meet product targets
• Co-design with mechanical/thermal teams to optimize packaging, cooling, and density; collaborate with controls engineering
• Lead root-cause analysis and design iteration based on test data to improve reliability
