Job summary
Johnson Controls is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Power Electronics team in the R&D - HVAC Engineering department, based in New Freedom, PA. The role requires commuting distance or relocation, with hybrid work options at the New Freedom facility.
You will lead design, testing and lifecycle support for power electronics across the chiller portfolio, guiding architecture choices and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with power electronics specialization.
- 5+ years in power electronics or electrical engineering.
- Experience with three-phase power and circuit design.
- PhD in Power Electronics is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Serve as technical authority in power electronics for chiller portfolio.
- Lead design, testing, and sustainment of power electronics products.
- Develop robust, high-performance power electronics solutions.
- Establish compliance frameworks for electrical circuitry.
- Translate requirements into designs meeting performance and manufacturability targets.
- Own engineering documentation for lifecycle support.
- Drive system-level architecture and evaluate cost impacts.
- Lead feasibility studies and cross-functional alignment.
