Job summary
Johnson Controls is seeking a Principal Power Electronics Engineer to support our Chillers product group and lead the design, testing, and sustaining of variable speed drives for chiller applications.
This role is located onsite in New Freedom, PA. Candidates must be commuting distance or willing to relocate. A Master degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Electronics and 7+ years of industry experience are required; PhD preferred.
Qualifications
- Master degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Electronics.
- 7+ years of industry experience in Power Electronics.
- PhD degree with focus in Power Electronics (preferred).
- Strong experience in power electronics controls and IGBT-based inverters.
Responsibilities
- Design, test, and maintain power electronics products and systems for chiller applications.
- Define design specifications and interpret requirements to meet product needs.
- Coordinate documentation releases to support component design and manufacturing.
- Lead troubleshooting for field and factory issues across power electronics products and systems.
