Job summary

Aegis Power Systems, Inc. in Murphy, North Carolina, is seeking a Senior Discrete Power Electronics Engineer to lead design, analysis, and testing of high‑reliability power conversion products for defense, aerospace, and industrial applications.

You will drive architecture to production, mentor junior engineers, perform thermal and loss analyses, and collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Program Management, and customers to deliver rugged, compliant power solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a four‑year institution.
• 10+ years of professional electrical/electronic engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience designing power conversion products using discrete power semiconductor devices & component‑level circuitry.
• Strong experience with switching power supply and power converter design.

Responsibilities

• Lead detailed electrical design of AC-DC, DC-DC, and DC-AC power conversion products.
• Develop power converter architectures and select switching topologies based on input/output requirements.
• Design power stages using discrete semiconductor devices and related circuitry.
• Lead design reviews, verification, and transition to production.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Program Management, and customers to deliver ruggedized power solutions.
