Job summary

Jobtailor in Palo Alto seeks a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer to own inverter mechanical parts from concept through production, including design release and fixture development.

You will run DOEs, perform CAE/FEA analysis, design and execute lab tests, and coordinate test campaigns for verification. You will collaborate with vendors to transition designs to high-volume manufacturing while optimizing costs and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • 5 years of experience with CAD design of mechanical parts and assemblies.
  • 3 years of experience with CAE tools including Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • 2 years of experience with statistical tools (Minitab and Excel) for production inspection data.
  • Experience transitioning power electronic device designs to production at high volumes.
  • Experience working with manufacturing vendors to produce built-to-print components from concept through high volume production.
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using established methodologies.
  • Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize mechanical assemblies and processes.

  • 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation

  • 5 years of experience with each of the following skill is required: Designing mechanical parts and assemblies using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software

  • 3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: Analyzing the design of mechanical systems using Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools including Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

  • 2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: Analyzing production inspection data for mechanical and electrical components using statistical tools, Minitab and Excel

  • Transition power electronic device designs to production at high volumes

  • Work with manufacturing vendors to produce built-to-print mechanical components from concept through high volume production

  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using established methodologies to identify the cause of failure in mechanical and electrical systems

  • Perform Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize mechanical assemblies and processes.
