Visio Lending in Austin, TX, seeks a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to own Power BI reports and semantic models for Finance and Operations. You will turn business needs into intuitive report experiences, perform SQL-powered analyses, and maintain governed data products.

As the Power BI platform owner, you will collaborate with business owners, analysts, engineers and security to ensure reliable, compliant, and scalable BI content while leveraging AI tools judiciously.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in information systems, analytics, computer science, or related field.
• 4+ years of professional experience developing BI reports and semantic models in Power BI or similar.
• Strong report-design and user-experience skills with the ability to translate questions into clear reporting products.
• Proficient SQL for data exploration, validation, and troubleshooting of governed data.
• Hands-on Power BI experience: Desktop, Service, semantic models, DAX, Power Query, publishing and troubleshooting.
• Experience administering Power BI workspaces, apps, content lifecycle, and governance in production.
• Comfort using AI tools for BI tasks with judgment to protect data and ensure quality.
• Clear communication and ability to work with engineers, analysts, and security in a remote environment.

Responsabilités

• Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and apps.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate decisions into report layouts and interactions.
• Own day-to-day Power BI platform operations, including workspace settings, licenses, and governance.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries to support reporting and data exploration.
• Build reusable semantic models with relationships, measures, and model documentation.
• Create reusable DAX measures and calculations validated against business examples.
• Prototype reports and iterate UI based on stakeholder feedback.
• Utilize approved AI tools to accelerate design, development, and testing while protecting confidential data.
• Publish and maintain content through established workflows; ensure freshness and correct bindings.
• Coordinate with engineering and security on row-level security, permissions, gateways, and deployments.
• Support defects, data questions, and adoption needs; guide users on shared-model consumption.
• Create templates and document logic for governance and re-use.
• Participate in requirements reviews, UAT, and release validation.
• Other duties as assigned.
