The ideal candidate has 5+ years in Power BI, strong data modeling and stakeholder engagement, and can deliver end-to-end reporting from discovery to knowledge transfer.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Consultant / Developer to lead the design, development, modernization, and deployment of enterprise reporting solutions. This role will be responsible for transforming existing reporting assets into scalable, user-friendly Power BI solutions that support business intelligence, analytics, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Power BI, data modeling, requirements gathering, and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to deliver high-quality reporting solutions from discovery through knowledge transfer.

Key Responsibilities

Discovery & Assessment

• Review and assess existing data sources and reporting assets associated with six in-scope reports.
• Gather, validate, and document business and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand current reporting challenges and future analytics needs.
• Design and develop scalable Power BI semantic and reporting models.
• Create and maintain facts, dimensions, measures, calculations, and data relationships.
• Establish a reporting framework that supports future self-service analytics initiatives.

Power BI Report Development

• Rebuild and modernize six existing reports using Microsoft Power BI.
• Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations aligned with business requirements.
• Optimize report performance, usability, and accessibility.

Validation & Remediation

• Conduct data validation and quality assurance activities.
• Incorporate stakeholder feedback and enhancements through multiple review cycles.
• Ensure reporting accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business objectives.

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

• Create technical and functional documentation for reporting models and solution architecture.
• Conduct knowledge transfer sessions for business and technical teams.
• Provide guidance on ongoing report administration, maintenance, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI.
• Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, data warehousing concepts, and semantic models.
• Advanced experience with DAX, Power Query, and data transformation techniques.
• Experience designing and deploying enterprise-scale dashboards and reports.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders to gather and refine requirements.
• Ability to document technical solutions and conduct training sessions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SQL Server and cloud-based data platforms.
• Knowledge of data governance, reporting best practices, and self-service BI strategies.
• Experience modernizing legacy reporting environments.

Project Objective

This initiative will centralize organizational reporting within Microsoft Power BI, provide a more dynamic and interactive reporting experience for users, and establish a scalable foundation for future analytics and business intelligence initiatives.
