Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Business Intelligence professional in Tallahassee, FL to analyze data environments, design an BI roadmap, and transform and optimize reports for Power BI. The role focuses on SQL-driven data transformation, IBM DB2 integration, and financial data reporting, with responsibility for data flows and workspace administration.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in BI, hands-on Power BI development (including paginated reports), and familiarity with data warehousing concepts,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a field related to technology or finance; work experience may substitute year for year
• Minimum 3 years' experience in Business Intelligence
• At least 2 years' experience developing dashboards and reports in Microsoft Power BI
• Experience with IBM DB2 databases
• Experience building dashboards and reports with Microsoft Power BI
• Experience developing paginated Power BI reports
• Strong SQL skills
• Knowledge of data governance best practices
• Familiarity with Data Warehousing, Operational Data Stores, Data Lakes, and Master Data Management
• Experience creating reports with financial data
• Familiarity with OLAP cubes and Star/Snowflake Schema
• Knowledge of Power BI integration with Power Automate, Power Apps, PowerPoint, and Teams
• Understanding of solutions using multiple data sources
• Knowledge of Mainframe flat files
• Knowledge of the SCRUM Framework
• Preferred: Oracle Datawarehouse, mainframe programming languages and systems, financial systems such as ERP, and WebFOCUS
• Ability to clearly communicate information in written and verbal formats
• Customer service, decision-making, flexibility, interpersonal, leadership, problem-solving, and team-building abilities

Responsibilities

• Analyze current data environment and data structures to determine transformation needs before dashboard development
• Develop an organizational reporting roadmap with management
• Analyze existing reports and improve them based on business needs
• Automate data transformation with developers and end users
• Read and document WebFOCUS and Mainframe FOCUS queries and convert them to T-SQL
• Collaborate with database administrators to create database views and stored procedures for Power BI reports
• Create Power BI dataflows
• Analyze financial data and recommend improvements to financial-system data models
• Administer the Power BI dedicated workspace
• Train comptroller's office staff on using Power BI reports
