Vantor is seeking a Senior PostgreSQL Engineer to support architecture, optimization, and operational support of PostgreSQL databases for a large-scale U.S. Government analytics platform.

You will ensure high availability, performance, and security while collaborating with software engineers, data engineers, DevSecOps teams, and system administrators in a cloud-enabled environment. Qualifications

• US citizenship and active TS/SCI clearance is mandatory.
• 14+ years of relevant technical experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience administering PostgreSQL environments.
• Strong PostgreSQL performance tuning, backup/recovery, replication, and HA knowledge.
• Experience with Linux-based production environments and scripting (Bash, Python).
• Experience with PostgreSQL in cloud/hybrid/containerized environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, administer, and maintain PostgreSQL environments for mission-critical apps.
• Optimize performance with tuning, indexing, partitioning, and capacity planning.
• Implement high availability, replication, backup, DR, and monitoring solutions.
• Develop database automation using scripting and IaC tools.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevSecOps, and admins to support deployments.
