Job summary

Abile Group, Inc. seeks a Senior PostgreSQL Database Engineer to provide expert database support on a 10-year contract for an Intelligence Community customer. You will administer PostgreSQL, design schemas, optimize performance, and ensure reliability within OpenShift environments.

The ideal candidate holds TS/SCI with CI Poly eligibility, a Bachelor's degree, and 5+ years in database admin/engineering. Collaboration with developers and ops is essential to deliver scalable, secure data services.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; 5+ years of database administration/engineering/architecture experience.
Hands-on PostgreSQL administration and support experience.
Experience with relational database design, data modeling, SQL, indexing, and query optimization.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Administer PostgreSQL databases: configuration, users, roles, permissions, maintenance, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
Design and refine database schemas, data models, and indexing strategies to support applications.
Optimize performance by analyzing queries and plans and implementing improvements.
Support OpenShift deployments with database connectivity, configuration, monitoring, and integration.
Maintain backup/restore procedures and high-availability, replication, and DR capabilities.
