Job summary

E-INFOSOL seeks a skilled Database Administrator to join our Washington, DC team as a full-time employee. You will design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL databases, ensure data integrity, and support security and recovery strategies in a government-focused environment.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of database experience, a Top-Secret clearance (or ability to obtain), and strong skills in replication, backup, and performance tuning using PostgreSQL tools and AWS services.

Qualifications

• Active Top-Secret clearance or ability to obtain SCI/CI Poly as required.
• 8+ years of experience in database management systems.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in database administration and testing.
• Knowledge of security measures to safeguard databases.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills to manage changes and integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain moderately complex databases.
• Maintain database dictionaries and ensure system integration.
• Administer and test databases with relevant DBMS expertise.
• Coordinate changes to databases to ensure data integrity and efficiency.
• Plan, implement security measures to protect databases.
• Administer and optimize PostgreSQL (v13+) including config and tuning.
• Implement and validate backups using pg_dump/pg_restore and WAL archiving.
• Configure and monitor PostgreSQL replication and high availability.
• Perform query tuning and indexing using EXPLAIN/ANALYZE and partitioning.
• Plan migrations to/from PostgreSQL, including AWS RDS/Aurora and Oracle.
• Establish monitoring for PostgreSQL using observability tools.
