Texas Capital seeks a Portfolio Manager II in Austin to oversee underwriting for the Middle Market sector and drive credit decisions from opportunity to close. The role emphasizes risk assessment, portfolio performance, and cross-sell opportunities within a collaborative banking team.

The successful candidate will lead Analysts and Associates, manage covenant and reporting processes, and maintain strong client relationships while aligning with bank-wide credit standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commercial Banking or equivalent
• 5+ years of Commercial or Corporate Banking with formal Credit training
• Strong writing, interpersonal and communication skills
• Motivation and initiative; works well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Passion for financial services and delivering superior client experiences
• Proven leadership skills and community involvement

Responsibilities

• Oversee credit-related responsibilities for Analysts and Associates, including financial statement spreading and validation of underwriting models
• Responsible for risk rating assessment and periodic relationship reviews
• Partner with Relationship Manager in credit agreement review and negotiation
• Ownership of all credit approvals (new customers, modifications, renewals, increases, risk assessments)
• Identify risks and mitigants for each credit request
• Ownership of policy exception identification
• Direct and manage portfolio reviews
• Validate covenant compliance and covenant management
• Ownership of post-approval modifications for accurate reporting of credit exposure
• Client management, including day-to-day needs, meetings, and site visits; direct client contact
• Client management in SalesForce
• Oversight and analysis of macroeconomic conditions and industry trends
• Ownership of portfolio reporting and analytics
• Identify cross-sell opportunities
• Partner with Special Assets Group as needed
• Lead and/or support initiatives to improve delivery of credit solutions
