The Senior Portfolio Manager will monitor markets and portfolio performance, evaluate investment opportunities and risks, oversee portfolio implementation, and serve as the team’s investment expert by translating complex market and portfolio information into clear, actionable insights for financial planners and clients. The ideal candidate brings sophisticated investment expertise, strong market awareness, intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and a belief that disciplined, evidence-based portfolio construction—not frequent trading—is the foundation of successful long-term investing.

The position reports to the President of Purposeful Wealth Advisors.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $145,000–$175,000 annually, with eligibility for an annual bonus. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and other legitimate business considerations.

  • Monitor markets, economic conditions, investment managers, and portfolio performance to identify risks, opportunities, and appropriate portfolio changes.
  • Lead due diligence and selection of ETFs, mutual funds, separately managed accounts, and other investment solutions.
  • Oversee portfolio implementation and trading, including rebalancing, cash investment, tax-loss harvesting, and tax-efficient portfolio management.
  • Evaluate portfolio performance and investment results to ensure strategies remain aligned with the firm’s investment philosophy and client objectives.
  • Prepare portfolio analyses, investment recommendations, and talking points for client meetings, including explanations of performance drivers and recommended changes.
  • Provide regular market and portfolio commentary to financial planners, translating complex investment information into clear and useful insights.
  • Participate in client meetings as needed to provide investment expertise and address portfolio- and market-related questions.
  • Oversee investment-related costs and fee strategy, including product selection, custodial considerations, and client asset-based fees.
  • Partner with financial planning, operations, compliance, and leadership to maintain disciplined, scalable, and effective investment processes.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen investment processes, portfolio implementation, and the overall client experience as the firm continues to grow.

Perform other responsibilities reasonably related to the Senior Portfolio Manager role as needed to support evolving client needs, the investment function, and the continued growth of the firm.
