Young Brothers, Inc. seeks a Port Engineer to lead the 8-vessel tug fleet, overseeing maintenance budgets over $2.5–3M annually and directing a team of engineers and mechanics across inter-island operations.

The role enforces safety standards, manages vessel surveys and dry-docks, and acts as the primary technical authority for inspections with USCG and ABS. A strong background in maritime operations and cost control is required.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years as a tugboat engineer or shoreside management/ocean towing preferred.
• Must possess a valid USCG engineer’s license or Designated Duty Engineer (DDE) license.

Responsabilités

• Directly supervises engineers and shoreside staff; oversees maintenance budgets and capital planning.
• Ensures regulatory compliance, vessel surveys, and inspections (USCG, ABS, EPA).
• Sets safety culture and leads risk management for fleet operations.
• Manages repairs, dry-dockings, and yard periods for the tug fleet.
• Maintains SAP-driven maintenance records and cost controls.
• Collaborates with Risk Manager on vessel casualty investigations and insurance surveys.
