A Brief OverviewThe Senior Population Health Analyst is responsible for using available health plan data and tools to develop actionable insights and opportunities with a data-driven approach. Serves as the technical subject matter expert for clinical and population health analyses by leveraging analytics and expertise to aggregate, analyze and understand patterns in complex and variable data sets.
What you will do
- Serves as a strategic business partner to internal and external stakeholders by providing subject matter expertise, and by anticipating and actively proposing, designing and executing analyses.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on findings and recommendations for stakeholders.
- Participate in Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) reporting development and discussions to ensure that appropriate elements are considered.
- Leads the dissemination and interpretation of clinical and population health analyses, including metrics and reports of clinical, financial and administrative data to develop and monitor actionable programs and opportunities for improving the outcomes and clinical quality of population.
- Establishes strong, collaborative and effective relationships and communication with internal and external clinical, administrative, operational, financial and technical stakeholders to ensure analytics are actionable and aligned with organizational strategic priorities, needs, plans and resources.
- Provides consultative, technical, subject matter and business expertise mentorship to colleagues across Avera Health Plans.
- Provides complex and detailed reports detailing clinical performance, including subjective and objective analyses.
- Serves as the liaison between clinical and technical teams across Avera Health Plans.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Bachelor's in computer science, analytics, mathematics, business or healthcare related field.
- Extensive knowledge in Power BI, SQL, and/or Tableau.
- 4-6 years of health plan/managed care experience.
Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Master's in computer science, business, or healthcare related field.
- Knowledge of healthcare finance, revenue cycle or supply chain.
