Position Description:
This position performs through the development, implementation and maintenance of a strong system of internal controls, this position improves the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the department process. The position performs audits and develops controls necessary to ensure the accuracy of plan/policies issues, maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations.
Position Location:
This position is remote and does not require regular in-office presence.
What you do:
- Develop and implement a strong internal audit program. Conduct audits on a current and consistent basis to verify:
- Take appropriate action from audits to minimize or eliminate potential problems in a timely manner.
- Work with Compliance to provide leadership within the teams for regulatory changes and requirements. Develop and follow communication plans for regulatory changes to the areas impacted; including but not limited to - Administration team; Training; Policyholders; Partners; TPA's; Field; Producers and members.
- Conduct ongoing investigations regarding successes, needs, relationship issues, breakdowns and/or trends. Identify trends that affect our customer service and work with Management Team to identify opportunities for improvement in the issue and implementation process. Reporting, documentation and meeting with internal work groups as required.
- Consult with internal auditors to identify areas where coordination of efforts can occur. Establish techniques that will assist in discovering and preventing fraud and tracking relevant information. Identify and recommend changes in processes relevant to risk management.
- Review issue reporting statistics and support changes within the organization.
- Coach, mentor and train associates on an individual basis. Serve as a resource and resolve complex issues as needed.
- Identify and communicate departmental training needs and coordinate with the training team to ensure training is given in an appropriate and timely manner. Conduct training as needed.
- Represent department on task forces and projects as necessary. This would include but is not limited to projects related to a change in business process or the implementation of procedures for new state or federal regulations.
What you bring:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
- 1-3 years of Retirement Plans experience required
- Omni or Relius exp preferred
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to multi-task
