What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Analyze, develop, and write policy in support of DoD programs related to suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention
  • Assess existing policies and develop new or revised policies to address gaps and implement improvements
  • Coordinate with clients and stakeholders to gather and adjudicate input
  • Develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity
  • Provide clear verbal and written communications to various stakeholders in alignment with DoD style expectations
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Master\'s degree and 5+ years of directly related experience (10+ years total work experience)
  • Experience with DoD/Federal policy development or analysis
  • Ability to critically think, examine complex issues, and identify gaps and possible solutions/improvements
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Knowledge of the DoD and Federal Government\'s policy development process
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience working in a military environment or with military personnel
  • Experience in a DoD or government public affairs shop creating communication materials for military audiences
  • Ability to design a comprehensive policy evaluation plan
  • Knowledge of change management strategies to facilitate policy development/implementation
  • Ability to assess and communicate the impact and gaps in suicide prevention and response policy
