Qualifications

• Two years of law enforcement experience.
• Passing Protective Services Exam (PSE) score or exemption under rule 22.8 of the Civil Service Rules.
• Experience substitution: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience. The maximum substitution allowed is 60 semester hours which substitutes for two years of experience.
• Necessary requirements: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, Louisiana driver's license, POST certification may be required, felony disqualification rules.

Responsibilities

• Provide a full range of police services with emphasis on enforcement of laws, investigations of crimes and accidents, and providing emergency services and crime prevention programs.
• May serve as assistant shift supervisor by overseeing the full range of police services on an assigned shift.
• Intervene in complex matters requiring criminal investigation, collection of evidence, arrests, and court testimony.
