Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is recruiting for a Programme Management Office (PMO) Manager to lead a large, complex APHA programme in Crewe. You will establish proportionate standards, controls and reporting to ensure delivery is well governed and focused on agreed outcomes.

In this Change Directorate role, you will provide senior leaders with reliable information, clear escalation routes and evidence for timely decisions, while aligning with APHA and Defra priorities.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in PMO or programme governance.
• Ability to establish proportionate controls and reporting.
• Experience in lifecycle governance from business case to benefits realisation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the PMO function and develop its team, setting standards and expectations across the programme.
• Establish and improve controls for plans, milestones, risks, issues, decisions, benefits and reporting.
• Coordinate governance, assurance and gateway reviews as required.
• Oversee integrated plans, milestone reporting, dashboards and performance information for senior leaders.
• Set standards for identifying, managing and escalating risks, issues and dependencies.
• Support creation and maintenance of business cases and evidence for prioritisation and investment.
• Coordinate budgets, forecasts, actuals and resource information with finance and delivery colleagues.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and delivery partners to enable delivery.
• Improve PMO processes and reporting across APHA’s delivery community.
• Provide delivery support to turn strategy into delivery with focus on outcomes.
