Job summary

Qualifications

• Typically 12-15+ years' experience in IC design with a focus on debug, failure analysis, or sustaining engineering.
• Strong analytical mindset for data-driven root cause investigations, independently or with teams.
• Experience diagnosing complex silicon or system-level failures in mixed-signal PMIC environments.
• Solid understanding of analog/digital circuit behavior and silicon manifestation.
• Hands-on with industry-standard EDA and debug tools (Synopsys, Cadence, scopes, analyzers).
• Excellent written and verbal communication for customer-facing documentation.

Responsibilities

• RMA onboarding, reproduction setup, and debugging to reproduce reported issues.
• Waveform analysis, analog simulations, and RTL review to identify failure mechanisms.
• Collaborate with customer applications teams to align debugging focus and status updates.
• Initiate advanced FA where needed and plan next actions to converge on RCA.
• Create customer-facing technical documentation and 8D reports.
• Propose silicon fixes or system workarounds with validation strategies.
• Deliver RCA reports with data and supporting materials.
• Conduct technical handoffs and closure with involved teams.
• Share learnings across Renesas design teams to drive improvements.
• Demonstrate continuous improvement of technical and non-technical skills.
