Job summary

Renesas Electronics in Plano, TX is seeking a senior technical engineer to investigate and resolve field failures on top-tier automotive PMIC products. Qualifications

Typically 12-15+ years’ experience in IC design with a focus on debug, FA, or sustaining engineering.
Ability to drive structured, data-driven root cause investigations independently and with teams.
Experience diagnosing complex silicon or system-level failures in PMIC environments.

Responsibilities

RMA onboarding and reproduction setup to understand failure symptoms and reproduce issues.
Collect and analyze waveforms, run analog simulations, and review RTL/netlist for failure mechanisms.
Collaborate with customer applications teams to align debugging focus and share progress.
Initiate advanced FA as needed and plan next steps to converge on root cause.
Create customer-facing documentation, including 8D reports and technical briefs.
Propose silicon fixes or workarounds and validate with teams and customers.
Deliver comprehensive RCA reports with data and supporting analyses.
Conduct technical handoffs and ensure proper closure with stakeholders.
