Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking a Technical Project Manager for Renewable Energy Forecasting to lead real-time meteorological and power forecasting projects for wind and solar assets, utilities, and market participants. The role interfaces between customers and meteorologists, data scientists, software engineers, and IT specialists in a DaaS environment.

This full-time role offers hybrid work (3 days on-site at a UL office in the United States) or fully remote if not located near an office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field.
• 3+ years of customer-facing project management experience in renewable energy or related tech.
• Experience with renewable energy forecasting, energy markets, or meteorological data apps.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts used in forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle from scoping to customer launch.
• Translate requirements into technical specs and plans.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to meet performance and latency targets.
• Develop schedules, backlogs, and status reports.
• Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Lead customer meetings and technical discussions as trusted advisor.
• Support forecast system enhancements and research initiatives.
• Contribute to proposals and proofs-of-concept.
• Build strong customer relationships through proactive communication.
• Provide after-hours support during critical events.
