City of Sunny Isles Beach is seeking a Senior Plumbing Inspector to assist the Chief Plumbing Inspector with comprehensive plumbing inspections and enforcement of plumbing, grading and zoning regulations. The role requires extensive Florida licensure, strong judgment, and experience with building plans and permits.

The position includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus and entails collaboration with attorneys, officials, and engineers to uphold safety and code compliance within city projects.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ten years related experience as a Licensed Plumber, five years in the field within the Florida Building Code jurisdiction.
• Certification as a Master Plumbing inspector in Dade or Broward County; Florida Plumbing Inspector; Master Plumber's License; Florida Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Plumbing Inspector in inspecting building plumbing systems and enforce plumbing, grading and zoning laws and approved plans.
• Prepare and submit periodic activity reports of inspection and investigations.
• Investigate complaints, issue citations, and coordinate prosecutions to ensure compliance with ordinances.
• Review plans and specifications prior to permits for plumbing installation and discuss requirements with engineers, contractors and property owners.
