Job summary

Stratus has recently partnered with PVEDI and are hiring a Sr. Project Manager II to lead plumbing and fire-protection design for multifamily and mixed-use projects in New York.

You will manage a small engineering design team, ensure designs meet site constraints and budgets, and coordinate with clients and city/state agencies for successful delivery. The role requires 10+ years of NYC/Tri-State experience, proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD, and strong leadership, communication, and budgeting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field required.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience designing plumbing and fire-protection systems.
• Experience in NYC and Tri-State regulatory environments preferred.
• Proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD for mentoring drafting tasks.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with cross-discipline collaboration.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage priorities and deadlines.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical and administrative aspects of plumbing and fire-protection design from proposal preparation to final acceptance by Client, including invoice and accounts/receivable.
• Review assessment information gathered during site investigations and ensure reports are clear and client-friendly.
• Lead plumbing/fire-protection engineering design across projects including multifamily, commercial, industrial and retail with coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
• Supervise staff designers and engineers to produce drawings, specifications, and submissions in line with codes.
• Inspect work from contractors and staff to ensure conformance with contract documents and prepare summary documentation.
• Communicate effectively with external clients, contractors, vendors, consultants, and agencies.
• Maintain project schedules, change orders and budgets; ensure staffing and timely delivery.
• Manage project budgets and assist accounting with invoicing.
• Mentor junior staff with technical guidance and feedback.
