M/E Engineering is currently interviewing for a Senior Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer in our Schenectady, NY office. We are a full-service MEP engineering firm providing design and technology services to our clients. Responsibilities

1. Possesses a professional attitude showing interest in M/E's reputation and growth.
2. Is a fully competent engineer in all conventional aspects of their assignment.
3. Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in independent evaluation, selection, adoption, and modifications of standard techniques and procedures.
4. Works with the Principal, Associate, or Project Manager to finalize Project Scope and Schedule of deliverables and understands priorities identified.
5. In addition to duties of project engineer/designer, applies advanced practices and techniques, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies, and follows projects through all phases from program, schematic, design development, construction documents, bidding, to construction.
6. Supervises, coordinates, and reviews work, schedules, and assigns work to meet completion dates.
7. Develops reports, studies, and system analysis.
8. Works efficiently and makes good decisions.
9. Evaluates application of substitute equipment.
10. Reviews final adjustments of equipment and systems after installation.
11. Communicates directly with clients, except in controversial matters.
12. Represents the firm at meetings and covers all trades, which may require further follow-up.
13. Assisted on projects by other engineers and/or designers.
14. Estimates workforce needs, schedules, and assigns work to meet deadlines, updating the project manager on status and resources.
15. Mentors and trains younger engineers and designers.
16. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

1. Preferably has a Professional Engineering License (P.E.) or Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) working toward P.E. Licensing.
2. Bachelor of Science or equivalent.
3. Eight years of experience in responsible charge of project design in respective discipline, plus advanced courses, training, or seminars related to Engineering and Management.

Compensation Range

The compensation range for this position is $87,360 to $120,000 per year.
