Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Mechanical (Plumbing) Engineer for advanced facilities projects, with 10+ years of experience in industrial plumbing systems. The role is geographically flexible in the US with 10-20% travel and a hybrid work model.

You will lead design work, mentor colleagues, and ensure quality in scope, schedule and budget for complex facilities. You will act as SME within Mechanical for plumbing codes and standards, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and guiding projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 10 years of practical application of mechanical engineering and plumbing design in complex industrial facilities.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Extensive on-site field experience with the construction and installation of industrial plumbing systems and common trade practices.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong comprehensive knowledge of International Plumbing Code (IPC).

Responsibilities

• Lead projects delivering design, development, application and specification of engineered plumbing systems and components.
• Provide on-site assistance during startup and coordinate work with design/engineers and the discipline lead.
• Serve as SME within the Mechanical discipline for plumbing systems, codes and standards.
• Mentor junior team members and share best practices to improve team performance.
