Position Summary

As a Senior Plumbing Engineer/Designer at Reese Hackman, you will combine technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and leadership skills to design high-performing plumbing systems that enhance the built environment. You will play a key role in shaping design direction, mentoring emerging engineers, and ensuring technical excellence across every phase of project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead project teams through all phases of design. This includes development of system designs, directing project teams, project scheduling, budgeting, and cost estimation related to plumbing engineering scope and staff.
- Maintain existing client relationships and develop new client relationships through the course of project management and business development initiatives.
- Design, develop, and implement plumbing systems for commercial, and institutional buildings.
- Provide quality control oversight of plumbing system designs for various project types.
- Mentor staff members and cultivate strategies for their personal and professional growth.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of plumbing systems within overall building design.
- Analyze and troubleshoot existing plumbing systems for retrofits or upgrades, providing innovative solutions to improve performance.
- Ensure that all work adheres to RH standards as well as applicable building codes, standards (ASHRAE, ASPE, NFPA, etc.), and client requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in plumbing design for commercial and institutional facilities.
- Architectural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree (ABET-accredited) is preferred.
- Project Management experience leading design teams.
- Development of system design concepts and implementation of those concepts through all phases of design.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Revit
- PE licensure
