Job summary

EXP is seeking a Senior Plumbing Engineer in the Washington, DC area, with flexibility to work from Fairfax or Towson. You will lead and mentor plumbing teams, review designs for code compliance, and develop front-end plumbing system work in diverse project types.

The ideal candidate has a PE, 10+ years of plumbing design experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. You will manage multiple projects within budget and contribute to life-cycle cost analyses and design details.

Qualifications

• Proficient with plumbing engineering and design and 10+ years in a similar role.
• Experience in Transit, Aviation or Commercial Building projects.
• Strong communication skills and ability to direct others in plumbing design.
• PE license is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor junior engineers and designers on responsibilities.
• Review code-related items to ensure compliance.
• Develop and monitor plumbing work plans with the PM.
• Write new specification sections and details for project needs.
• Manage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours.

In this role, you will be a part of thePlumbingteam, based in Washington DC, Fairfax or Towson MD.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

• Lead and mentor junior engineers, engineers and designers level staff on all of their responsibilities.
• Review code related items with engineers to ensure compliance.
• Perform at a responsible charge level of meeting exp design and quality levels.
• Ability to QC all work ofplumbingengineering staff.
• Apply risk management procedures daily to minimize exp & client's exposure to problems.
• Creates the narratives (basis of design) for the SD work.
• Perform front-end loading ofplumbingsystems.
• Develop and monitorplumbingwork plans in conjunction with PM.
• Write new specification sections; develop new details, as required for project needs.
• Manages work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours.
• Writes studies and reports forplumbingsystems when needed on projects.
• Understand and apply engineering principles and fundamentals.
• Perform life cycle cost analyses, and energy/cost calculations forplumbingsystems.
• Ability to develop alternative 'Engineered'plumbingsystems that meet code.

What your experience looks like

• Proficient withplumbingengineering and design, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role;
• Experience in the Transit, Aviationor Commercial Building projects
• Must have strong communication skills, be able to direct other individuals in the design ofplumbingsystems;
• PE required
• Proficient in both AutoCAD and Revit;
• BS Architectural Engineering, BS Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree; preferred but not necessary

The salary range for this role is $140,000 to $180,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skill set, experience, certifications, and geographic location. Compensation may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor.
