Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Plumbing Designer to support multiple offices (Cincinnati, OH; Indianapolis, IN; Conshohocken, PA; Cary, NC) with a hybrid work model. You will independently perform plumbing design for advanced facilities, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, and engage on-site visits to verify conditions and assist construction.

You will leverage 10+ years of Revit design and plumbing code knowledge to deliver coordinated, constructible designs for industrial facilities.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in plumbing design including waste/vent, water and storm.
• Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
• 10+ years of Revit design experience.
• Experience with pharmaceutical/manufacturing facilities.
• Solid knowledge of plumbing codes.
• Understanding of clash detection and system coordination.
• Passion for buildings and construction.

We're seeking a Senior Plumbing Designer in our Cincinnati, Ohio, Indianapolis, IN, Conshohocken, PA and Cary, NC offices who is excited about working on advanced facilities projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business. Join us and you’ll have the chance to support projects for some of the world’s largest and most state‑of‑the‑art industrial facilities. You’ll independently perform plumbing design assignments with general technical guidance on unusual or complex problems. Your plumbing experience will be put to use to create plumbing designs for construction. There will be opportunities to be on project sites to gather existing plumbing conditions and during construction. You will coordinate work activities with other design and engineering professionals and project management.

Here’s what you’ll need

• Associates Degree in a related technical discipline; or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree
• 10+ years of practical application experience of plumbing design, including waste and vent, domestic hot and cold water, and storm water related to building systems
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams, with the client, and construction team
• At least 10 years of Revit design experience
• Industrial design experience including pharmaceutical manufacturing, semiconductor facilities, or similar
• General working knowledge of plumbing codes
• An understanding of clash detection, clash resolution and building system coordination
• Passion for buildings and construction

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Industrial design experience including pharmaceutical manufacturing or similar
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
• Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base

Location

• This role is staffed out of our Cincinnati OH, Indianapolis IN, Conshohocken PA and/or our Cary NC offices as a hybrid position with majority of time worked remote, and approximately 2 days per week in the office on average as needed for projects.

The base salary range for this position is $80,600.00 to $138,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
