Job summary

WSP is seeking a Mechanical Designer to design and layout plumbing systems for complex facilities projects. The role involves preparing drawings and cost estimates using AutoCAD and Revit, while ensuring compliance with client standards and QA/QC procedures.

Based in multiple locations, including Boise, Overland Park, Madison, Austin, or Houston, the candidate should have a strong eye for detail, solid communication skills, and a track record in building systems design.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field.
• 9+ years of experience in plumbing design for building systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; familiarity with plumbing codes and standards.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and layout of plumbing systems for facilities projects, including potable water, sanitary, storm, and specialty systems.
• Prepare detailed drawings and cost estimates using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Review and apply client-specific and internal drafting standards to ensure compliance and high-quality deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects and other disciplines for coordinated designs.
• Support project development from concept through construction, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
